Organic farming is a way of producing food based on natural cycles. It minimizes human impact on the environment, seeks to act as naturally as possible and without the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

The organic farming is an overall system of farm management and food production that combines best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity, preservation of natural resources, application of high animal welfare standards, and production in line with the preference of certain consumers for products obtained from natural substances and processes. Thus, organic production methods play a dual social role, bringing, on the one hand, organic products to a specific market that responds to consumer demand and, on the other, public goods that contribute to the protection of the environment, animal welfare, and rural development.

Based on the aforementioned, organic production systems do not use synthetic chemical fertilizers or pesticides to control pests, diseases, and invasive plants, or methods that cause a deterioration of the soil and the environment in general.

Green technologies achieve their production goals by diversifying and intensifying biological interactions and beneficial natural processes. By enhancing these beneficial processes in cultivation systems, it is possible to activate the biological system of plant nutrition and the regulation of organisms that can become pests.
